The story of the legendary jeweler Paul Flato, from the beginning during the golden age in Hollywood, his move to New York in the 1920, the time when becoming a successful jeweler. The books includes anecdotes featuring famous clients like Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis as well as high society clients like the Duchess of Windsor.
Beautifully illustrated with Flato's exquisite jewelry. At the height of his career he was more famous than Tiffany & Co. or Harry Winston. Flato designed jewelry for a total of six films, including "Holiday" (1938) with Kathrine Hepburn, "Two Faced Woman" (1941), Greta Garbo's last film. This volume is beautifully illustrated with color photographs sourced from auctions houses, private collections, the Flato family archives, photos from Hollywood and New York clients wearing Flato's designs, film stills and studio portraits, as well as original design sketches.
