English title page in black and brown, Hebrew in brown plus additional double title page in color. Passover Haggadah with traditional Hebrew text and English introduction; translation and notes of Hebrew text by the English-Jewish historian Cecil Roth, first used in his 1934 Haggadah.
Contains reproductions of water color illustrations by Lithuanian-American social realist artist Ben Shahn. These were provided by the Jewish Museum of New York with each illustration surrounded by a section of calligraphy text from the Haggadah. Preface by Stephen S. Kayser. Text in English and Hebrew. Mylar jacket with 4 x 2" chip at bottom of front, extending to spine, and a one inch circular chip on back cover near spine. One inch chip at top of back corer near spine. Block lightly age-toned with inscription inked to English front free endpaper. Very good condition. Item #55939
