Admirable account of the career of the British actress Adelaide Neilson, one of the theatrical phenoms of her time in the eyes of her admiring audience as well as theater critics. From her first American appearance in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet at the Booth Theatre in 1872 New York to her last tour in the 1879/80 tour she was considered an actress unequaled in her time, with possibly the exception of Lotta Crabtree.
