An extraordinary, finely illuminated calligraphic manuscript of the biblical Song of Songs (Song of Solomon). The colorful, decorative elements are rendered in fine craftsman style with text in black ink. An added manuscript plate on heavy paper, with gilt enhanced ink title line is laid in, rendering an interpretation of the Song of Songs, its history and a few instructions with a chritological interpretation for the reader. Laid in plate with horizontal wavy bend at top, and minor wear to edges of binding with very small stain to front cover, and lightly rubbed. Interior fine. Very good to fine condition. Item #55728
