Showing various famous villas, starting with the Villa Prince Albani (first seven plates), including the bas-relief, the footprint of the estate, a general view of the villa, the vegetable garden and others. Villa Medici is presented on six engravings, incl. the footprint of the estate, a view of the facade, one of the whole palace, the pavilion of Cleopatra and others. The Villa Panfili presented on five engravings, Villa Barberini only with footprint of the estate, Villa Borghese with seven engravings, Villa Mattai (3 engravings), Villa Farneiana (3), Villa Negroni (3), Villa Pia (3), Madama (3), Sacchetti (2, 39 and 39b), Altieri (2), Papa Giulio (4), Bolognetti (2), Monte Dragone (3), Taverna (2), Muti (1), D'Este (6, incl. one unnumbered engraving), Casino Colonna, a Marino (1), Aldobrandini (3), Lanti (2), Giustiniani (1), Villa (3) and the Palazzo Caprarola (4).
Text in French. Binding with some light wear along edges and marbled boards somewhat scratched. Half-title and title page with foxing, diminishing to edges on following pages. Foxing does not affect the engravings. Small water stain (3 x 1 1/2"), also diminishing through Villa Medici. F. Good- to very good, etching in fine condition. Item #55567
