San Jerónimo was a former convent of the Hieronymite nuns, founded in 1585 in Mexico City. In the course of its existence the architectural structure of convent underwent several changes due to the increase in the number of nuns, the services provided as well as natural factors such as the rise in the levels of the lakes, causing the famous floods that devastated Mexico City until the 18th century. The secularization of the property had prompted its usage as a hospital, school, commercial premises, nightclub, and warehouse.

In October 1975 a presidential decree was issued designating it as a public utility and therefore ordered to be renovated. The collection of plans presented here are the result of four years of archaeological exploration at the convent, which largely reflects not only the evolutionary process of the convent structure, but also is accelerated degradation, following the radical change of its function. Profusely illustrated with architectural drawings and plans throughout.
