Tel Aviv: [ca. 1920s?]. Hardcover. Oblong octavo. 15 double-sided heavy stock paper leaves. String-tied binding. Brown textured paper boards in faux-alligator style. Printed b/w paper label in German and Hebrew pasted on the front cover. Illustrated ex-libris pasted on the front cover.

A unique photo album showing the exterior, interior and inventory of the shop Kleinmann's Kunstgewerbe (In Hebrew: "Melechet Machshevet Kleinmann"), located at 20 Ahad Ha-am St, Tel Aviv. The 27 silver gelatin photographs, in various sizes (ranging from 2 1/4 x 3 1/2" to 5x 7"), are mostly mounted to both sides of leaves, with the last two loose, laid in at the first blank leaf. Shown are images of the storefront and 5 with interior views and products of the shop, with the inventory consisting of home furnishings, framed artwork, embroidery, lace work, fabrics and lighting fixtures. A number of the the products are in Jewish themes, and other items in modernist designs. Some of the images show a woman sitting in the store, who may be Else Kleinmann. The interior back cover contains a printed label with the text "Schnapp nach Entwürfen von Else Kleinmann" (Snapshots after design by Else Kleinmann). Final 7 leaves are blank. Unique photo-documentation of German emmigree decorative arts in Palestine.

Front cover with a few light abrasions. Interior clean, with photographs clean and vibrant. In very good condition overall. vg. Item #55366
