Paris: Le Terrain Vague, 1958. First edition. Softcover. Octavo. 231pp. B/w photo-illustrated wrappers, with red lettering on the front cover. Black lettering on the spine. A collection of various writings by Dada pioneer Marcel Duchamp. This work is part of the series "Collection 391", assembled and edited by leading French Dada scholar and art historian Michel Sanouillet (1924-2015), which re-publish and discuss the writing and art of the Dadaists. The series takes its name from the seminal Dada literary and art periodical "391", originally founded by Francis Picabia, which was published between 1917 and 1924.

The book is illustrated throughout with interleaved glossy plates of b/w reproductions of Duchamp's work, as well as lithographically printed images in black, reproduced directly from the in-text images, accompanying his writings. Also included are a biographic timeline of the artist's life, as well as extensive bibliographic sections on Duchamp's work and writings at the rear.
