Engraved frontispeices and title pages. An early edition of Charles-Francois Lebrun's French translation of Tasso's epic poem 'Jerusalem Delivered'. Lebrun's translation first appeared in 1774. Volumes illustrated throughout with numerous engraved plates by French artist Gravelot (Hubert-François Bourguignon, 1699-1773). Text throughout in French.
Binding with some rubbing, and chipping to extremities, including the spine. Bindings tight overall. Interiors quite clean, save for some very sporadic minor foxing. Some creasing, and a few instance od small chips to the corner of pages. Images and text vibrant and clean throughout. Bindings in good- to good, interiors in very good to very good+ condition overall. g- to vg+. Item #55341
