"Conceptual art underlined the importance of the idea as basis of the art work. All means employed to realize this idea were valid, up to and including the mere statement of the idea. This "Anything goes" stance regarding the artistic medium contained echoes of Marcel Duchamp, Yves Klein and Andy Warhol. Photographs and videos documenting the creative experience could now be art, as even an announcement or catalogue without the related exhibition could be. The dividing line between document and art work was blurred." (Jan Ceuleers).
