Two of the photographs are the first two photographs included in the publication.

Report by a surviving inmate of the concentration camp Mauthausen to honor a promise inmates made to each other during their captivity: "those who will survive the camp will tell the world of the conditions and horrors experienced," to let the world know what the Germans did and were capable of if they remain a powerful nation. Published to express solidarity with the countless victims of the German camps all over Europe.

The events at Mauthausen seemed exaggerated even to the author when reading his own report. However, in reality the suffering at Mauthausen was much greater than any words can express. The report provides a truthful picture of the suffering that took place. The imagery of horror, bestiality and inflexibility laid out in this report will burden the consciousness of the German nation, despite its high cultural standards.

The nine chapters of the report describe Mauthausen and and its geographical and administrative location, including the road to Mauthausen, the arrival at the camp, the quarantine procedures, followed by three extensive chapters describing life, work and how the prisoners died at Mauthausen. Chapter eight describes the psychological condition of inmates and chapter nine is a conclusive overview of life and death at the camp.

The report is illustrated with four b/w photographs: one showing a model of Mauthausen, giving an overview of the extent of the camp, another of the Mauthausen stone quarry with its infamous stairs, a third photo with scraggy looking inmates and a final photo of a mass grave with the caption: 'how the unfortunate victims of German culture were treated.'
