Attempt to present the most interesting societal, economic and cultural aspects of Russian society to a non-Russian speaking audience. The structure of the book first introduces the country and its rich environment, its natural resources followed by its industrial sites, the the living and cultural environment of the workers as well as the environs of the emancipated woman. There no photo credits though numerous photos can be attributed to Alexandr Rodchenko.
The epilog by Alfred Kurella treats the centrally planned economy, argues for the "Five-Year-Plan" and the advancement of society as a whole, explains the financial planning and important statistics, the change form an agricultural to an industrialized country as well as the social and cultural goals of the five-year plan. Last page with Kiepenheuer titles by the authors. Text in German, captions in three languages. Dustjacket with very light wear along top and bottom edges. Very good to near fine condition.
