Account of the author's journey through the Sinai Peninsula and Arabia, leaving London on March 20th, and spending "exactly five weeks and a day under canvas in the Desert of the Exodus and Arabia, and during that time had covered about 400 miles on camel and 700 miles on horseback." Beautifully illustrated with fifteen sepia-toned reproductions of photographs depicting scenery and natives encountered, the Monastery of St. Katharine, the Mosque and Castle at Akaba, and members of the traveling party. Folding map at rear (14 1/2 x 161/2") of the Sinai Peninsula with the travel route marked in red. Binding rubbed and partially with light discoloration, interior in very good condition.
