This scarce and interesting work on comparative religion and religious chronology focusses on the Jewish and Muslim calendars. The author, Vicar of Hampstead Sherrard Beaumont Burnaby (1831-1902), discusses these calendars as they relate to both religious practice during the year and to the overall counting of chronology on a larger scale. Also discussed are the Gregorian and Julian calendars for comparison. Includes numerous tables throughout. The front contains a preface by the author and table of contents. The final pages consist of indices, a bibliography and a list of subscribers.
Binding with some rubbing and bumping to extremities, including the spine. Covers with some light stains and scratches. Book block starting at p.224 and the endpapers. Pages throughout overall quite clean, with only the most minor of age toning to some pages along the margins. Binding in good+, interior in very good- condition overall. g+ to vg-. Item #54473
