Delightfully illustrated with 13 original color & b/w lithographs, in addition to dustjacket and title page, four of these fold-outs. Offset reproductions of color and b/w photographs of paintings in part II (1908-1957).

Part one with offset reproduction of Chagall portrait photograph, and double page with six photographs framed by Chagall illustrations at rear of chapter one "Chagall today," this with biographical data. Chapter two introduces Chagall's painted work, chapter three Chagall's new work "Mutations," and chapter four Chagall's engravings.

Part two, entitled 1908-1957, introduces Chagall's paintings and gouaches of recent years as well as unpublished or little-known works from earlier periods in high quality color and b/w offset reproductions. Printed by Mourlot Frères. Photographs by Y. Hervochon and M. Routhier, Draeger.
