Lerski (1871-1956) was an actor, filmmaker and photographer. He is known especially for his unique close-up portraits and for his series of human hands. This volume of unknown people is considered a landmark photography book and certainly Lerski's most important work. Text in German. Binding with very light wear along edges, some light creasing and minor chipping at head and tail of spine. Half-title with light damp staining. Verso of last photo with light damp-staining.
