Baumanns Neue Farbtonkarte System Prase Block VII (Baumann's New Color Tone Card System Prase Block VII)

Aue, Saxony: Verlag Paul Baumann, ca. 1922. First edition. Softcover. Oblong Sextodecimo (5 1/8 x 5 7/8"). 3 plates. 257 color chips in three stacks. Glossy brown stiff wraps with black lettering on cover, fastened with original yellow cloth tape at spine. The 257 color tones in Block VII are an extraction of the complet Baumann color tone card of 1,359 different color. Due to the fact that the complete color tone card of 1,359 color tones could not be published at the time, this extraction was a selection suitable to the contemporary application of color schemes. The colors of this block could ordered as single sheets (7 1/2 x 12cm) from the publisher. Contains a page listing the color tones in each of the three blocks by numbers.

The color tone chips (5 x 1 5/8") are arranged in three separate blocks (flip books) of stapled color chips, cut horizontally with numbers and mixing details printed to versos. This enables the user to flip through the colors to find good matches in the other two blocks. This three-part collection of 257 color tones, silk-screened to paper chips, provides a quick and convenient way to check color compositions and their harmonious effect. Each color chip with number of color, color type (e.g. Chalk), and suggested complementary colors printed to versos. Text in German. Cover with penciled name at top, else in fine condition. Fine condition. Item #53034
