"Peter Granser's images seem absurd, ironical and comical at the same time. For the picture series "Sun City" he portrayed wealthy senior citizens in the pensioners' paradise of Sun City, the largest community of senior citizens in the US. Granser received one of the renowned World Press Awards 2002 and the Arles Discovery Award 2002 for "Sun City." (Publisher). Granser, an Austrian living in Germany, has perfectly captured the forgivable oddness of this desert community in this series of color photographs. With an essay by Klaus Kleinschmidt.
