The architectural exposition was installed on the exhibition grounds at the Kaiserdamm and was aiming to illustrate the fundamental spiritual and economic change of architecture and dwelling of the time. Proof of these new currents is not to be found in the exhibition alone, but concurrently by turning the exhibition into an educational tool, examining the exhibit and its art, science, industry and craft as the basis for systematic training and lectures on architecture.

The publication includes sections on the organization of the exhibition, including a detailed listing of the contributors, the structure of the exhibition with its various sections "City Planning and Housing," "The Building of our Time," "The Flat of our Time," "The New Architecture," and the special exhibition "Agricultural Architecture," and includes a plan of the exhibition grounds.

Each section of the exhibition includes a list of committees involved, a plan of the exhibition and an illustrated section, photos, architectural drawings and plans, elaborating on the program with text contributions addressing the specific topics and tasks of the respective section. Among the contributors of the educational part of the exhibition are Walter Gropius (Floor Plan of the New Flat), Bruno Taut (Shape of the house and Design of City Blocks), and Gustav Wolf (Community Facilities in Housing) in section A.

Section B elaborates on architecture and its relation to the environment, featuring railroads, bridges, harbors, power plants, industrial architecture, superstructures, streets. The treatment of the flat in section C includes a look at the history of the apartment, the evaluation of various modern apartments, hotel and hospital rooms, sleeper cabins as well as community facilities in various settings. "The New Architecture" examines building materials, operational management and model workshops of the architectural crafts.

The special exhibition for agricultural architecture informs on the progress of the last ten years, and cites scientific and practical experiments to enhance the economic viability of various agricultural operations through enhanced architecture. This extensive catalog and guide introduces in detail the organizers and promoters of the 1931 architecture exhibition in Berlin, including the members of the management, the honorary committees, the board of administration, and the committee of experts. The welcome addresses of Mayor H. C. Sahm, the government building officer Dr.-Ing. Riepert,
council member Czeminski and Professor Dr. Wilhelm Kreis are included. Various contributions illustrate the evolution of the idea to arrange architecture exhibitions and describe the German and International Architecture Exhibitions, with a commentary on the significance of the exhibitions as well as an overview.

The Catalog contains listings of participating countries and architectural projects exhibited, including the Netherlands, Switzerland, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Australia, France, USA, England, Palestine,Romania, Yugoslavia, Denmark, Italy, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Spain and Chile. Two extensive sections are dedicated to the German section of city planning and the German housing. Illustrated with portraits of honorary personalities and experts.

Various sections introduce buildings of our time, the exhibition of the Union of German Architects, the apartment of our time, the Prussian State Superstructure Administration, the new architecture, housing, etc., illustrated with some b/w photographs. The special exhibition "Ring of Women" is sponsored by German art & craft as well as leading German women's organizations. The pavilion for this part of the exhibition near the radio tower in Witzleben was designed by the German architect Peter Behrens especially for this exhibition.

Contains alphabetical listings of exhibitors, merchandise, and an extensive section of advertisements. Text in German. The program is illustrated with an architectural drawing and contains several architectural plans. Very light wear along edges, lightly rubbed with two pencil notations on cover.
