Cambridge: Society for Propagating the Gospel, 1824. First edition. Softcover. Small Octavo. 24pp. Original string-bound blue wraps with black lettering in decorative black frame on cover. The report was read and accepted on November 4, 1824. Yearly report on the missionary work indicating the successful change from itinerant to the establishment of stationary missions. The pamphlet includes reports on the work of ten reverends in stationary missions, stating performed services, lectures, family visits, etc. for the respective locations.

Part two of the pamphlet contains reports on missions among the Indians, including Moheakunnuk (New Stockbridge Indians), the Indians at Martha's Vineyard, Narragansets, Nantucket, the Passamaquoddy Tribe and the Cherokees. The reports indicate the varying challenges the Indians and missionaries are confronted with, the establishment, operation and maintenance of schools. The final report is dated October 29, 1824. The report contains a report on the funds available to the society, list the officers, the members of the Select as well as Auditing Committees, the missionaries, donors and a complete list of members of the society. Wraps with some light wear along edges. Some light wear of pages, those uncut at bottom and foredge. Good condition. Item #52001
