This scarce work is an extensive treatise and survey of modernist architecture and design by Japanese art critic and professor Takao Itagaki (1894-1966). This work is illustrated at the front with a 16 plates of b/w photogravure images of international examples modernist architecture, design and construction, including work by Mies van der Rohe, Gropius and Mendelsohn. Itagaki was one of the most prominent promoters of modernist in Japan during the period, and wrote and lectured extensively on many topics including the fine art, architecture, design, literature, film, photography, theater and music.
