Cologne (?): Thekla Ehling (self-published), 2007. First edition. Hardcover. Quarto (11-1/2" x 8-1/4"). (58) leaves done in French-folded style with each double leaf printed on outside only. Sparse text in German. Color photo dust jacket with plain green spine, over green cloth, front cover lettered in white. Illustrated throughout with photographic plates (mostly in color). A handmade edition limited to 150 numbered copies (this is #129), signed on the limitation leaf by Thekla Ehling. The true first edition in fine, as new condition.

"With Summer Heat, German photographer Thekla Ehling (born in 1968) keeps pace with the growing up of her children and friends. She documents situations and moods so that the viewers find themselves entangled in connotations and memories of their own childhoods. Ehling's pictures often show moments of isolation, in which a young spirit seems to regard itself as if in a trance. There are preoccupied looks, evidently comparing a current event with one already experienced. The question of how far each mechanism of the subconscious connects to the discovery of individual identity is deliberately left open by Ehling."-- (from the publisher of the later trade edition)
