Salvador Diaz was born on September 18, 1977 in Mexico D.F. and lives in the CD of Monterrey since September 1985 after the earthquake in the area of Tlatelolco where he lived with his family. Salvador Diaz's paintings are a repository of family images, including self portraits. Diaz paints the "familiar." Memories are reconfigured and, in some instances, unexpectedly disfigured. He exposes the strangeness inherent in that which is familiar to him and us. "I am like a far away country" (front flap).
