Extraordinary illustrated guide to the Palace and Park of Versailles and a handbook to the Trianon Palaces and gardens. Versailles with fifty-five engravings and plans, the Trianon Palaces with thirty-eight engravings and plans. Both parts with indices, including engravings at rear of respective parts. The Palace of Versailles was the royal residence of King Louis XIV. The Trianon Palace was a retreat for the King himself and Marquise de Montespan (Maitresse-en-titre) in the northwestern part of the Domain of of Versailles. The Grand Trianon within its own park includes the Petit Trianon, a smaller Chateau. Binding with very light wear, some chipping at foredge of front free endpaper and free endpapers somewhat browned.
