This beautifully printed book is a compilation of Russian folk-tales and proverbs, privately printed by Russian billionaire and businessman Vasily Anisimov (b.1951), as a gift for friends, in a limited run of 100 copies. This copy is un-numbered on the colophon. Compiled, edited and translated into English by Fr. (or Archpriest) Christopher Hill and Olga Piskunova. Illustrated throughout with pasted-on color reproductions after original paintings by Nina Alyoshina and Marina Gracheva (frontispiece is tipped in).
