Small octavo. 3 volumes. lxviii, 200; (4) 292; (4) 305pp. Preface to the 2nd ed. and preliminary remarks in English, main text in hieroglyphs. Original orange cloth with black lettering and decorative border on front cover, spine lettered in black. No color illustrations. Volume one contains chapters 1-64, volume two chapters 65-152, and volume three has chapters 153-190 with appendices (pp. 183-305). Covers lightly darkened from handling, extremities of spines just starting to fray, but quite sound. Some gatherings of Vol. I unopened.

The Egyptian Hieroglyphic Text is edited from numerous papyri, and contains a description of which papyri were used in determining the correct hieroglyphic text.

The 1909 second revised and enlarged edition of the English translation corresponds to this Hieroglyphic text. It is part of the publisher's series, "Books on Egypt and Chaldea."
