Publication in observance of the 85th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall and the establishment of the National Endowment Fund, the Carnegie Hall Society presented a concert-celebration. This limited edition album, commemorating an historic event, was recorded live at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday evening the 18th of May 1976.

The album features six original, autographed photographs (6 1/4 x 9 3/4") of Leonard Bernstein, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Vladimir Horowitz, Yehudi Menuhin, Mistislav Rostropovich and Isaac Stern, pasted to gilt framed, handmade tipped-in paper plates. The album contains a photo-illustrated essay by Irving Kolodin on the history of Carnegie Hall. The text of Schumann's "Dichterliebe," opus 48, a song cycle on the poems of Heinrich Heine in German and English and table of content for the musical renderings at rear. The commemorative album was designed by Sharon Lee Ryder and bound by Gilmore Leather. Fine condition. Item #50326
