Lotz was a noted member of the German Werkbund and the editor of the well known magazine Die Form.

Included are only furniture and appliances available through the general trade. Prices for all products are stated and the manufacturer is named. With text advising on practical and healthy solutions regarding location, state and maintenance of the apartment and advice on size and assignment of the rooms. This part is illustrated with a number of drawings relating to older and new types of apartments, including layout for different apartments.

Illustrated with three hundred and seventy b/w photographs, including some drawings and floor plans of apartments, furniture and appliance with special sections on kitchen utensils, dishes and and textiles for drapery and bedding. The final chapter gives advice on decoration of the apartments with pictures, plants, and art and craft items with special tips for purchasing. Provides names of the architects and designers with contact information. Inside flaps of wraps with illustrated advertisements. Text in German.
