Original three-quarter red cloth over tan boards with black lettering on cover, gilt on spine. Corpus containing "all the forms published in the various works enumerated at the beginning of the volume named, unified as a whole and provided with sequence dates. The practical use of it is by the graveside. So soon as a grave is cleared and planned, then the pottery can be laid out in order, each type searched for in the corpus, and noted by its letter and number on the card register." (Petrie). Contains sixty-one plates with numerous drawings of plates by Petrie, rendered in b/w lithography. List of publications of the Egyptian Research Account and the British School of Archaeology in Egypt on back cover. Binding with some wear, small chips in red cloth and four by one inch scuff (decreasing toward foredge) on front cover; rubbed. Previous owner's name on front free endppaer which is slightly browned, as is back endpaper. One pencil note in "The Registers and brief pencil notes on a few plates. Starting at plate XXV.
