English and Hebrew title pages and tables of contents. This is #163 of a total edition of 800 copies hand numbered on the verso of the Hebrew title page. The work is a extensive bibliography of printed Hebrew books from the very first editions in the 15th century until 1948. The book lists an astounding total of 1131 published works from around the world, and is illustrated with b/w photographic facsimile reproductions of title pages. The frontispiece before the Hebrew title page is a b/w facsimile reproduction of the title page from a copy of the Talmud tractate Pesachim from the Vienna 1807 edition, with a handwritten note stating that it was found by the allies in Hitler's bunker in 1945. Includes tables of contents and a ten page English language introduction at the back of the book. Errata slip laid in. Text in Hebrew and English.
