This limited edition is a complete facsimile reproduction of the manuscript known as Leiden Or. 4720 (aka the Leiden Talmud), the only known complete surviving manuscript copy of the Jerusalem Talmud. The manuscript was written in the year 1289 by Yehiel ben Yekuthiel ben Benjamin ha-Rofe of Rome, who corrected source errors in the text during the process of his copying. His manuscript is the source of all subsequent printed editions of the Jerusalem Talmud, starting with the famous Bomberg edition of 1523-1524. The first volume contains intorductory in English and Hebrew.
