[Los Angeles]: Universal Television/ The Mirisch Corporation, 1985. Softcover. Quarto. 99pp. [1]. Yellow paper wrappers bound with brass fasteners. Signed by writer Elmore Leonard in pen on the title page. This is the original revised draft of the screenplay for what would become the first installment of the Desperado series of five Western tv films, released on NBC television from 1987-1989. In this draft the title is still Duel McCall, named after the protagonist of the films, but by the time it premiered on television on April 27th 1987, the name had been changed to Desperado. The series starred Alex McArthur as the titular character as he roamed the American West helping those in trouble, and its final title Desperado was inspired by the Eagles song of the same name. The final un-numbered page contains a general outline for the possible continuation of the series. Wrappers with a few minor creases, smudges and scratches. Binding tight. Wrappers and interior in overall near fine condition. Protected in modern mylar. near fine. Item #48442
