This scarce pamphlet is a detailed discussion of and a polemic against academic corruption in the University of Bucharest in the interwar period. The author, Tache Papahagi, was a leading Romanian folklorist and linguist, who studied and later taught at the University of Bucharest. At the time of this publication, he was serving as an associate professor in the faculty of Philosophy and Letters. The work contains many references to, and discussions of the contributions of Papahagi's mentor, pioneering philologist, linguist, folklorist, literary historian and poet Ovid Densusianu (1873-1938), who was also a leading faculty member. At this time Romania was going through very dramatic socio-political changes, at the dawn of the Second World War. Publisher's advertisements in the interior wrappers and the back cover. Text throughout in Romanian. Wrappers with some minor smudges, stains and/or creases. Minor rubbing to extremities. Wrappers in very good-, interior in near fine condition overall. Quite scarce.
