Testimony of the Charles Richet and his family about their time in German concentration camps.

The authors Charles Richet, a French doctor, professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Paris and honorary colonel of the Army-Health-Service, and his children Jacqueline and Olivier were members of the French resistance. Arrested and deported by the Nazis Charles was sent to Buchenwald near Weimar, Jacqueline to Ravensbrück, the concentration camp for women North of Berlin, and Olivier to Mittelbau-Dora, a sub-camp of Buchenwald supplying slave labor, among other things for the manufacturing of the V-2 rocket. About one in three of the 60,000 prisoners sent to Dora died. The book is divided into three parts, each representing the recollections of the three authors. It is illustrated with ten full-page graphic images of b/w photographs depicting the horrors perpetrated in these camps. Text in French.
