Rudolph, Güthersloh 1962, G. Gerleman, Neuenkirchen 1965, G. Krinetzki, Frankfurt 1981, Vulgata, Vatican 1986, the Zurich Bible, Berlin 1989, A. Stadler, Salzburg 1990, M. Buber, Stuttgart 1992. O. Keel, Zürich 1992, H. P. Müller, Göttingen 1992, K. Ellinger, Solothurn 1994, and K. Reichert, Salzburg 1996 (Translation from colophon).'

The book presents a German translation of the Song of Songs. On twelve razor-thin parchment leaves Karni employs various techniques and mixed media producing twelve collages, respectively an assemblage of the Song of Songs. The pages combine text with the artwork showing folds, hems, tears and traces of scratching as well as pasted and melted adhesive tape and application of pencil, brush and needle and sowed threads. At times the text is hidden by overlays or accentuated with color, or torn in halves with pages sown together again. Binding with very light wear along edges, else in fine condition. vg+ to fine.
