Vol. 1: Bible, gospels, apocalypse, sacraments, etc. Vol. 2: Breviaries, book of hours, prayer books. Vol. 3: Oriental manuscripts, theology, philosophy, history. Vol. 4: Jurisprudence, poetry, tournaments and games. Volume four with a register by Gisela Plotzek-Wederhake. Each volume beautifully illustrated with pasted down color reproductions of manuscripts in text and an extensive part of reproductions in b/w at rear. The Ludwig collection was sold en bloc to the Getty Museum via Zeitlin & Ver Brugge Booksellers. It was the largest private sale of a book collection at the time. This catalog is the primary reference on this remarkable collection. Dustjackets with very light wear along edges. Blocks age-toned along edges, not affecting images. Very good condition.
