Volume one from the series of Hebrew translations from the writings of Hellenistic Jewish philosopher Philo of Alexandria. The text has been translated by Isaac Mann, and there is initial introductory text, notes and commentary by German-Israeli classical philologist and epigraphist Moshe Schwabe (1889-1956). Includes a brief bilingual Hebrew- Greek lexicon of philosophic terms at rear. This publication is believed to have been the first such Hebrew translation of Philo's works done in the 20th century and also the first published in Palestine. Text throughout in Hebrew, with running scholarly footnotes and commentary. Text in Hebrew. Wrappers with some small sporadic wormholes, as well as rubbing to extremities and some light stains.
