Wegweiser des Hauses Württemberg-Hohenzollern zum Reichsparteitag 1938 der N.S.D.A.P in Nürnberg

Stuttgart: Gau-Organisationsamt Württemberg-Hohenzollern, 1938. First edition. Softcover. Duodecimo. 80pp., 1 folding map. Original blue quarter-cloth over illustrated wraps with blue and white lettering on cover. Map on inside front cover. Illustrated title page.

Though in small format, the cover design by Hellmensch exudes the desired effect of power. Page three features an anonymous drawing depicting the German Eagle holding the Swastika, framed by laurel, atop a classical column, rising from the ashes of destruction. A disclaimer on the opposing page informs that the actual program for the Reichsparteitag is exclusively reserved for publication in the official party guide. The folding plan illustrates the organizational structure for the Reichsparteitag on one side, with the layout of a tent camp on its verso.

Two contributions, one on "life in a tent camp" and the other, characteristics of the typical Swabian, precede the elaborate part on transportation to and from the Reichsparteitag, instruction on the use of the tent camp and aids for active participants in various events during the Reichsparteitag. Pages sixty-three to eighty with mostly illustrated advertisements of Swabian business. The inside back cover features an illustrated announcement for a Cannstatt "folk festival" after the Reichsparteitag. The back cover with a reproduction of an ID for participants in parades during the convention.

Text in German. Blue cloth at top of back spine with few small chips. Back cover lightly rubbed. Wraps in overall good+ to very good, interior in very good+ condition. g+ to vg+. Item #47243
