Original half faux leather album, black and red over tan cloth boards, volume two paper-covered boards. Title page inked in calligraphy with German Eagle and Swastika.
Two volumes depicting the military service of Unteroffizier Heinz Wiechmann in original drawings on heavy stock paper. The picture diary of Staff Sergeant Heinz Wiechmann is rendered in superb original caricatures in ink and pencil accompanied by humorous text in four-line stanzas. The picture diary covers the time from the original draft call in 1938, through boot camp and deployment, including the German offensive at the West Front in May 1940. Both spines reinforced with blue library tape, one of the spines cocked. Small dealer stickers on inside back covers.

This series depicts the days of rest after a combat operation on six pages with two framed drawings on each page. The story is rendered in ink and pencil accompanied by handwritten four-line stanzas. A small slip of paper is glued to the back cover with name, staff sergeant Wiechmann, and unit, with 1. Prize handwritten to top of glued on slip, suggesting that this story was submitted to an internal military contest.

This humorous series depicts the futile daily routine of a craftsman in twenty ink drawings with handwritten one to four-line stanzas.
