Original photo-illustrated wraps in gravure with white lettering on red bar at top. Extensive documentation and report on prisoners of war during W.W.II by the Christian alliance with text written by a prisoner of war for friends and family.
The publication is profusely illustrated with three original color lithographs of artwork by Alfred Gaspart, Branco Kovacevic and G. Samoilov, fourteen pen sketches by Gerd La Motte, lithographically reproduced. One of them a double page image on the inside front cover and front endpaper, with text printed to it, the other thirteen are headpieces for various chapters. In addition there is a hand colored full-page Associated Press photo depicting one of 3,500,000 prisoners of war during the time after the war, plus numerous striking reproductions of b/w photos in photogravure throughout. Protected by modern mylar. Text in German. Very light wear along edges. Near fine condition. Item #46521
