Folio. 449, [1]pp. Original blue cloth with gilt-stamped Olympic Rings and gilt lettering on cover, gilt lettering on maroon leather label on spine, in original illustrated dustjacket protected by modern mylar; housed in original plain cardboard slipcase with brown lettering on spine. Cream endpapers. This work contains the official report by the "Organisationskommittee" (organization committee) for the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Full-page b/w reproduction in front shows Hitler at the Games followed with many portraits of members of the Organisationskommittee.

The book is profusely illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs showing the opening ceremony, athletes competing, Olympic officials, medal ceremonies, venues, spectators, press members & officials, scenic photography of Garmisch, closing ceremony and more. One photograph shows Hitler, Göring, Goebbels, Frick, Ritter von Epp and other officials in the stadium. Photos by Dr. Wolff, Hoffmann Presse, Associated Press, Folkerts, Presse-Bild-Zentrale, Scherl, Weltbild, and many others. Includes four full-page color plates showing various medals, tickets, daily programs, and the official advertisement poster of the games by Ludwig Hohlwein. Includes one partly colored fold-out traffic plan.

Text in German. Slipcase with some wear along edges, rubbed with some staining. DJ with wear along edges, small chips, five inch closed tear at top of back cover, crease at front and very light staining of back cover, lightly rubbed.
