Berlin: Verlag Scherl, ca. 1933. First edition. Softcover. Quarto. 127 (1)pp. Original design of wraps with black and rose lettering on cover, black on spine, protected by modern mylar. Publisher's device on title page. Hussong was the editor in chief for Scherl publishers. He is know for his antidemocratic stance and considered a forerunner of the Nazi press, a journalistic demagogue as Peter de Mendelssohn called him. The contributions in this publication are a harsh critique of the lifestyle during the Weimar Republic belittling the everyday citizen in short agitating contributions, in particular communists, the Jewish theater group Habima, but also the likes of the Staatliche Schauspielhaus on the occasion of a Hamlet production. His contributions were racy and insulting and in line with his assessment of the time: the cultural history of the in-between Reich, as expressed in the subtitle to this publication. Some claim that his journalistic work anticipated the agitating style of Joseph Goebbels. Text in German, Gothic script. Very light wear along edges and block lightly age-toned. Wraps and interior in overall very good condition. vg. Item #45593
