The publication is a program for, and a record of the speeches given at the Abraham Lincoln Centenary Service held at Temple Adath Israel, in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday night, February 12th, 1909.

Speakers included Rabbi of the synagogue Hyman Gerson Enelow (1877-1934), who gave two speeches, civil war veteran and philanthropist Col. Andrew Cowan (1841-1919), Kentucky poet Madison Cawein (1865 – 1914), and University of Chicago sociologist Dr. Albion W. Small (1854-1926). Includes a b/w illustrated frontispiece portrait of Abraham Lincoln, and a b/w photographic reproduction of the facade of the synagogue.

Wrappers with some chipping to the front cover, which was perviously detached and then re-backed with library tape. Period ink stamps on the front cover. Back wrappers missing. Library ink stamp on the interior front cover. Some closed tears along the edges of the frontispeice, with the image unaffected. Book block tight overall. Wrappers in good-, interior in very good+ condition overall. Wrappers protected by modern mylar. g- to vg+. Item #44785
