Original photo-illustrated white wraps with black lettering on cover; protected by modern mylar. Catalog for a special exhibition on the occasion of the "Deutschen Tanzfestspiele 1934 (German Dance Festival 1934)" organized the the Reichs Propaganda Ministry in the galleries of the Princess Palace. The artwork exhibited comprises various pieces going as far back as the 6th century B.C. with one Babylonian clay relief from app. the 23rd century B.C. It includes various medieval European artworks, Asian and European works from the 17th and 18th century, German and European works from the 15th through the 20th century. Surprisingly, the last of the 131 listed artworks is one sculpture of August Macke, "Pierrot und Tänzerin." Macke was friends with Paul Klee, Fanz Marc and Wassily Kandinsky, the group of "Der blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider)," who's work was later added to the list of degenerate art. Illustrated with 15 full-page b/w reproductions of artwork. Text in German. Light wear and rubbing of white wraps with white tak at head of spine of mylar cover.
