The publication is an issue of the of the promotional supplement to the German weekly, Illustrierter Film-Kurier, promoting the German release of the 1928 Warner Bros production, "The Singing Fool", starring Al Jolson. The booklet is profusely illustrated throughout (including the front and back covers) with b/w photogravure images and photomontage, depicting scenes and characters from the film. The musical film, which was Jolson's follow-up to his immensely successful and groundbreaking "The Jazz Singer", was also a huge hit, breaking box-office records and solidifying him as among the greatest entertainers of the era.
