Quarto. 76pp. Original cream wraps with black lettering and German Eagle and Swastika on cover, protected by modern mylar. Photograph of Göttingen on front endpaper. Frontispiece advertising. Title page with b/w photograph of Bernhard Rust, Reichminister for Education, Science and People's Education (Photo Hoffmann). The following four pages with b/w portrait photographs and brief appeals by Minister of the Interior Frick (Göttingen Student Archive), Dr. Scheel, Reichs Student Leader (Göttingen Student Archive), president of the province Hannover Lutger (Photo Hoffmann), and Fr. Neumann, president of the University Göttingen (Photo Hanna Kunsch).

The publications is divided into two chapters: The history of the university to date, and scientists and research locations.
The first part with various contributions on the history of the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen. Prof. Dr. Schürmann, Göttingen, writes about the "political contribution" of the university, Dr. W. Blume about the formation and challenges of the university group Göttingen of the NSD.-Dozentenbundes (National Socialist German Lecturers League), Dr. Hans Kaiser about the relation of the Göttingen University to foreign countries, etc. Part two features a b/w lithographic reproduction of a painting of C. F. Gauß by Prof. Jensen. This part of the publication features an article by Dr. Jos. Becker, the first director of the Prussian State Library, on the German biblical scholar and orientalist Paul de Lagarde, among other things known for his strong anti-Semitism, and in 1869 he succeeded Heinrich Ewald as professor for oriental languages at the University of Göttingen. He is considered to have laid the foundation for parts of the National Socialist ideology, particularly that of Alfred Rosenberg. It contains articles on the significance of the Göttingen University for the German agriculture, the Göttingen University library, the Institute for Mathematics, the Institute for Geophysics, the Institute for Ethnology, and the Lower Saxony Dictionary, and various other university institutes and faculties. Illustrated with b/w photographs of faculty members and university departments, three maps of Lower Saxony, and illustrated advertisements of local business as well as classified ads. Laid in an eight page advertising of the publisher Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht featuring publications on the university of Göttingen. Text in German, Gothic script. Wraps lightly rubbed. Else in very good+ condition.

Small quarto. 16pp. Original white stapled wraps with black lettering on cover, protected by modern mylar. This small pamphlet printed on the occasion of the Comradeship Evening for the 200 Year Anniversary of the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen, July 28, 1937, contains lyrics of four poems, possibly songs, entitled "Junge Nation (Young Nation), Land und Stand (Land and Status), Trutz und Wehr (Defense and Army), and Führer, Volk und Reich." Text in German, Gothic script. Some light water staining of wraps and some wavy pages due to water exposure, with light small water stains in block. Overall in good condition. g to vg+. Item #44661
