Original three quarter red cloth portfolio over brown paper-covered boards with black lettering on cover; string ties. Title page plus 59 plates depicting intricately decorative golden necklaces, tankards, statuettes, goblets, piano tops, brooches, jewelry boxes, a clock, swords, etc., reproduced in heliogravure, copperplate, and nine in chromolithography. The chromolithographs carry the imprint J. & A. Lemercier, Paris, below images, the copperplate reproductions with in plate signatures of G. Garen (2), S. Sulpis (1), and H. Guerard (7). Text in German. Portfolio with tears at head and tail of spine, joints cracked and some tape repairs. A lot of the plates with wear along edges, small tears and creasing, many of the plates with moderate foxing, not affecting images for the most part. Portfolio in overall good-, plates in good- to good+ condition. g- to g+. Item #43847
