* Marcus “Mark” Mills “Brick” Pomeroy (1833-1896), was an American journalist, newspaper editor, publisher and author. He was a well known outspoken Northern Democrat and Copperhead (those who opposed the Civil War), who wrote a number of vicious anti-Lincoln editorials during the period. He was known for his sarcasm and wit.
