The toy company Hermann Eichhorn was founded in 1949 and focused on the production of toys made of natural materials with high quality standards. The company was successful through the 1970s when more and more modern toys started to supplant the traditional market. In 1998 the company was taken over by the Simba Dickie Group but retained the trademark Eichhorn-Spielzeuge. It returned to the production of toys made of natural materials in recent years due to the growing trend and demand for toys made of ecologically sound materials.
