This yearly compilation of the luxury Decorative art French quarterly "Le Journal de la Décoration" was printed in Germany by Armand Guérinet's partner: Hoffman, a Stuttgart-based published. It contains the complete four issues of the magazine's 27th year, along with the tables of content and 80 plates splendidly reproduced in chromolithography.
The plates reflect ancient and contemporary technical and design trends in the decorative arts, particularly furniture, wallpapers, textiles, ceramics, and surface decoration (ceilings and murals).
The plates reproduce the works of celebrated decorative artists of the period such as Otto Ruckert, Georges Barbier, Ernst Aufseeser, H. Nover, H. Dallinger, Louis Gruber, Richard Throll, Reginald H. Leefe, A. Menna, Berthold Loeffler, as well as Franz Jaeger, and display a vast array of styles including Art Deco, Art Nouveau, German modernism, Bauhaus, and the Wiener-Werkstatte style.
Includes a plate (#30) depictings six splendid Native Indian and Japanese masks after watercolors by Fritz Endell.
